Tenant Services Authority

The Tenants Services Authority (TSA) is the new social housing regulator. Its aim is to champion the needs & aspirations of residents who have homes with housing associations or councils and to raise standards across the social housing sector.

The TSA is currently developing a new set of standards for the future regulation of housing associations and councils. Earlier this year the TSA began a ‘National Conversation’ with residents via a number of regional events and roadshows to find out how they felt about the services their landlord provides. This feedback is now helping to shape the new standards.

The 30,000 residents who have taken part so far have listed the following priorities as being

  • repairs and maintenance
  • ensuring homes are up to date & in a decent condition
  • tackling anti-social behaviour
  • being consulted by their landlords

The vast majority of residents have said they’re satisfied with their landlords but about a quarter have stated they are not satisfied.
