Starter tenancies launched by RSMHA
RSMHA is pleased to announce that from next month we will introduce 12 month Starter tenancies (also known as Introductory or Probationary tenancies) for all our new residents moving in to rented accommodation - except for those who already have an Assured or Secure tenancy with another landlord.
Starter tenancies are Assured Shorthold tenancies, as used by private landlords, and we believe that this initiative will help us to better tackle anti-social behaviour and poor tenancy conduct by a tiny minority of new residents. Starter tenancies will automatically become Assured tenancies after 12 months, provided there have been no tenancy concerns during the first year.
We have also taken the opportunity to review and improve our standard tenancy clauses in the new agreement, making it clearer on the rules concerning a range of important tenancy matters, including service charges, use of the property, keeping pets, parking and undertaking alterations.
